BIOGRAPHY
Nigerian inspirational and gospel singer, Sola Allyson, emerged in 2003 with a soundtrack for a Yoruba movie, later launching an album “Eji Owuro.”
Shola Allyson is a multi-dimensional singer who embraces folk, soul, and gospel genres and has appeared at religious events. Allyson also judged MTN Project Fame West Africa audition for five seasons.
EDUCATION
Olushola Allyson-Obaniyi’s education spans Anglican Primary School, Shams-el-deen Grammar School, Ikorodu and Government Technical College, Ikeja, studying Business Studies and obtained an NBTE certificate..
She pursued Music Technology at the Polytechnic, Ibadan, majoring in voice and minoring in music in 1997.
Allyson’s music journey began early at age 13, backing artists like Yinka Ayefele, Stella Monye, Kayode Olajide, Pasuma, e.t.c and creating jingles for TV and radio stations.
Recognized for her talent, she composed a Yoruba film soundtrack, “Eji Owuro”. The film became a success, so she decided transitioning into studio music. Collaborations followed with Tope Alabi, Adekunle Gold, and Cobhams Asuquo and other singers.

Married to Toyin Obaniyi in 2003. They met in the Central Choir of the Celestial Church of Christ. they have three children, namely; Ayobami, Mopelola, and Obafunmiwo.
Allyson boasts seven albums, including “Eji Owuro (2003),” “Gbe Je F’ori (2005),” “Ire (2007),” “Im’oore (2009),” “Adun (2012),” “Imuse (2018),” and “Iri(2019)”.
AWARDS
She garnered nominations at the Nigeria Music Video Awards (NMVA) in 2013 for Best Indigenous Concept and Best Soft Rock/Alternative Video category. She won the Special Recognition Awards at the City People Music Awards in 2018.
Allyson emphasizes humility despite success, believing in preserving oneself amid recognition.
